proved better than ever after 2 months off, his rider judging matters well in front; led, took keen hold, ridden over 1f out, kept on well final 1f, pushed out; he'll be off his highest-ever mark once he's reassessed (or under a penalty) and it's likely more will be required to win again.

A useful handicap, open rather than especially competitive, the below-par showing of the favourite, the one obvious potential improver, detracting from its strength as a piece of form.

GLOBAL ESTEEM (IRE) proved better than ever after 2 months off, his rider judging matters well in front; led, took keen hold, ridden over 1f out, kept on well final 1f, pushed out; he'll be off his highest-ever mark once he's reassessed (or under a penalty) and it's likely more will be required to win again.

CORVAIR (IRE) ran one of this season's better races, not a lot wrong with his finishing effort either; held up, headway 3f out, chased leaders approaching final 1f, kept on.
