Hardly a strong contest but the winner was unexposed coming back from a long absence and saw off one that had the run of the race.

LASSUE had been absent 21 months since winning a Ludlow maiden on her second start over hurdles, but picked up where she left off in seamless fashion, overhauling the long-time leader without the rider going for the whip, capable of better again if all remains well; held up, smooth headway before 3 out, quickened to lead before last, asserted run-in, hands-and-heels ride.

FORTUNA LIGNA (IRE) made a creditable return on the face of things, up in trip and minus blinkers after 6 months off, but was found to have bled; made running, pressed on approaching 3 out, headed when not fluent last, held run-in.

JASMIWA (FR) who had suffered an overreach when pulled up last time, failed to justify returning from 6 months off; chased leader, close up still 3 out, outpaced from 2 out.

KYM EYRE (IRE) back over hurdles, wasn't disgraced, perhaps requiring the emphasis more on stamina; waited with, slow second, effort 3 out, merely plugged on.

MIDNIGHTREFLECTION whipped round and unseated at the start.

BLUE BIKINI looked very rusty after 6 months off, the longer trip having nothing to do with her poor showing; raced off the pace, off the bridle long way out, struggling when slow seventh, tailed off 3 out.
