A largely exposed bunch and the pace wasn't overly strong, the winner thriving at present and always in a good spot under his penalty, a couple that closed up late from further back shaping promisingly.

HAKU (IRE) was easy to back but followed up under his penalty in a more competitive affair than the one he'd won by a wide margin 6 days earlier, though he was aided by a good position and the hat-trick will ask a sterner test again; prominent, raced freely, pushed along over 1f out, led last ½f, kept on, well positioned.

WAY OF LIFE again ran well with his useful claimer being able to use his allowance this time (even though he'd ridden out his claim the day before); close up, led 2f out, headed last ½f, kept on, well positioned.

SIEMPRE ARTURO back at the scene of his last win, not only returned to form but shaped best in fact in coming from much further back than the pair who beat him; soon steadied, still plenty to do 2f out, headway 1f out, finished well; won 5 times last year and looks of clear interest again now.

MELEK ALREEH (USA) is fairly treated and ran creditably back on all-weather; mid-field, headway under pressure over 1f out, short of room briefly, kept on.

TURQUINO (IRE) shaped better than the bare result back on all-weather, this test again not appearing to get to the bottom of him after he'd been quite slow to gather stride, still very much a work in progress despite his earlier wins; mid-field, outpaced 2f out, kept on, needs the emphasis more on stamina; likely to stay 1¾m; well bred and remains with potential.

CALUMET (IRE) had fewer excuses back on all-weather, running respectably but not appearing to fully see his race out this time; prominent, challenged over 1f out, weakened final 1f; perhaps he'll prove best up to 11f.

TROJAN STORM found things tougher up in grade, though perhaps he'll sharpen up for this having missed after a further 4 months; mid-field, outpaced 2f out, plugged on.

FOREST GATE (IRE) trying all-weather for the first time, needs progress from this mark but ran up to form after 8 months off and is entitled to come forward a bit from this; mid-field, ridden over 2f out, not quicken.

DR WAKSMAN claimer ridden, wasn't disgraced in a better race than he need contest back up in trip; held up, headway on inner final 1f, one paced, not ideally placed.

ARQOOB (IRE) was never involved from an unhelpful position back on all-weather; raced off the pace, made little impression.

CALVERT possibly needed the run after 7 months off (had breathing operation); always behind.

DUE TO HENRY probably needed the run making all-weather debut after 8 months off, but even so his capitulation in the final 1f was marked; led, raced freely, headed 2f out, folded tamely 1f out.

KOTARI (FR) ran poorly; always behind.
