improved again as he went one better than last time, despite being 2 lb out of the weights; close up, jumped soundly, went with enthusiasm, led approaching 3 out, shaken up after next, in command flat, driven out; his stable has been one of the best in the land this season (this win 21 from just 76 runners) and it's done an excellent job getting this one to settle down.

ran well while leaving the impression he would've given the winner more of a race with a better round of jumping, avoiding major mistakes but generally less than fluent; in touch, travelled well, second 3 out, untidy next, awkward again last, held flat, kept on; he's clearly still well treated.

won a nothing race at Huntingdon and the dashing tactics that served him well there didn't work up 8 lb against significantly stronger opposition, quickly getting brushed aside once headed just before 3 out.

claimer ridden, didn't really show anything but probably needed the run after 5 months off, spring and summer his seasons, his lofty initial chase mark likely to be less of an issue in some of the handicaps that take place at that time of year; held up, reminders seventh, tailed off 3 out.

A good-quality handicap, well run despite the small field, and only the top 2 in the betting counted after 3 out, lots to like about the form between them.
