MOUNT KILIMANJARO (FR) Group-1 placed at 2 yrs, was clearly all the better for his reappearance 9 weeks earlier, as suggested by both his 2-y-o efforts and his pedigree relishing this longer trip and adding another iron in the classic fire for connections; soon steadied, still plenty to do 2f out, good headway entering final 1f (briefly carried head shade awkwardly), stayed on to lead final 50 yds; open to further improvement and looks likely to stay 1½m.

HIGH STOCK a narrow winner of the Wood Ditton 3 weeks earlier, took the step up in grade in his stride, pulling clear with one who'd been Group-1 placed at 2; missed the break, soon in touch, chased leader over 2f out, led entering final 1f, collared final 50 yds; likely to progress further, with something like the Hampton Court at Royal Ascot likely to suit.

GREAT DAVID is rapidly progressive and coped irably with the major rise in grade, improving in the region of another 14 lb on top of Nottingham, and doing so under a dashing ride; soon led from outside stall, took keen hold, kicked on over 2f out, headed final 1f, kept on; the only down side is that he's just blown a handicap mark of 86.

CALLA LAGOON stayed this 2f longer trip and matched his 2-y-o form while shaping as if he might be better for the run after 7 months off; in touch, not settle fully, met some trouble briefly 2f out, plugged on.

MIRABEAU couldn't do any better than at Epsom, merely clo late from the back, underlining that he's going to be tricky to place for the time being.

HOTT SHOTT couldn't find any improvement for the longer trip, running a bit below his first 2 runs of the season in fact; raced off the pace, brief headway under 2f out, one paced.

ISAMBARD BRUNEL (USA) in first-time tongue strap after 7 months off, shaped as if he might have been amiss, though nothing was reported afterwards; handy, lost place quickly 2f out.
