successful in a recognised trial for this race at Naas last time, produced a decidedly smart performance on her first try at a trip she is bred to excel at, impressing with how well she went through the race ridden with more restraint than last time and with how well she saw it out; held up, travelled strongly, going well when switched 2f out, stayed on to lead well inside final 1f, well on top finish; will take plenty of beating wherever she goes next, races like the Yorkshire Oaks and Prix Vermeille presumably under consideration.

runner-up to the high-class older mare Magical here on return, ran at least as well upped another 2f in trip but again found one too good, unable to respond when Even So swept past in the final 1f; mid-division, typically travelled well, went on over 1f out, headed well inside final 1f, no extra; has done very little wrong in her career to date and it will be a surprise if she fails to add to her pattern-race tally.

a close second to Even So in a listed race at Naas last time, ran really well up in grade, particularly for one so inexperienced, well worth pointing out that her career is just a month old; tracked pace, every chance 2f out, kept on; capable of better still and may well be one that connections opt to keep in training next year.

can have a line put through this run, something clearly not right, hard races in the Ribblesdale and at Epsom presumably having taken a toll; raced well off the pace, pushed along entering straight, not persevered with once held, made no impression; type to bounce back quickly and remains one to be positive about.

An interesting renewal of the fourth Irish classic of the year, top-level form in relatively short supply but plenty of potential on show, Ennistymon's off-colour effort taking some of the gloss off the overall form but even a reproduction of her Epsom run may not have been good enough to deny Even So, who clearly relished the step up to this trip; the winner, who was completing a notable classic double for Ger Lyons and Colin Keane, may have carried the Coolmore silks but she became the first non Aidan O'Brien-trained home winner of this particular race since Vintage Tipple all the way back in 2003; Snow was given an uncontested lead and it wasn't a thorough test at the trip.
