A well-contested handicap, plenty of these arriving here in form, and the form has a very solid look to it, a trio of last-time-out winners leading them home, Paso Doble giving the impression there was more in the tank if required; the pace was sound yet few of those held up managed to land a blow.

PASO DOBLE (IRE) followed up from last time in the manner of one still ahead of his mark, needing a bit of rousting to get to the front but looking stronger the further he went; tracked pace, pushed along over 3f out, led under pressure over 1f out, stayed on; open to further improvement, particularly as his stamina is drawn out, he will take plenty of beating if taking up one of his engagements at Killarney on Sunday and, looking further ahead, looks an ideal type for the Leopardstown October handicap later in the month.

LAYFAYETTE (IRE) ran at least as well in defeat as when winning the time before, not ideally placed the way things panned out but, more pertinently, unlucky to bump into a really progressive sort; held up, headway when switched early in straight, kept on well, never nearer; will remain competitive in this sphere but his future surely lies over hurdles.

OUT ON FRIDAY (IRE) who has gone up plenty in the weights since the start of the year, made a bold bid from the front to prove his stamina for this trip; made running, headed over 1f out, no extra and only run out of second late on.

CHIRICAHUA (IRE) back down in trip, got back on track, shaping on this occasion as if a return to 1½m will suit; mid-division, headway early in straight, kept on, never nearer.

BRING US PARADISE shaped as if still in good form; prominent, led briefly early in straight, one paced.

KIPLING (IRE) ran better than last time despite again not being seen to best effect, caught further back than ideal the way things went; dropped out, headway out wide early in straight, bumped 2f out, kept on, not unduly punished.

GREAT GREY (IRE) back up in trip, failed to repeat last effort; tracked pace, driven entering straight, faded.

MAGNETIC NORTH (IRE) fared no better than last time; held up, in touch approaching home turn, weakened, effort proved short-lived.

TARAMANSOUR (IRE) in first-time visor, again ran poorly; held up, shuffled back entering back straight, driven home turn, made no impression.

CHILEAN is going the wrong way; chased leaders, weakened early in straight.

GEE REX (IRE) followed a good run with a below-par one; dropped out, brief headway approaching home turn, no further impression.

FRENCH RAIN (IRE) can have a line put through this run (reportedly distressed post race); mid-division, in touch approaching home turn, stopped quickly.
