gave his owner and rider yet another big-race win as she made it 7 wins from her last 8 outings (only Via Sistina lowered her colours during that spell) but, as at Newcastle, had the run of the race in upsetting the superior Nashwa, best placed to strike on the shoulder of the leader in a tactical affair and, having hit the front under 2f out, maintaining rather than extending her advantage at the line, her old rival poorly placed and the new one who was sent off odds on getting no run as things were unfolding.

capitalised on a sound tactical ride in reversing last year's Prix de l'Opera form with the poorly-positioned Nashwa but still found one too good in a bunched finish, placed again in a Group 1 without finding any improvement; dictated, ridden when tackled over 2f out, headed under 2f out, rallied.

was unable to match her heroics from the Falmouth or indeed this race in 2022, still looking at the top of her game but finding the task of coming from last (had been awkward leaving stalls) in a tactical affair just beyond her, threatening to overcome the disadvantageous position as she powered into contention down the outer under 2f out only to find the better-placed front pair still had more left; she's already had to settle for a minor role this year as many times as she had in the fullness of 2022 but Newmarket highlighted there's been no drop-off in her ability or turn of pace.
awkward start, held up, headway wide under 2f out, threatened approaching final 1f, no further impression

had her winning run ended through little fault of her own, her regular rider's first visit to this notoriously troublesome track proving one to forget, Blue Rose Cen looking every bit the very smart filly she had amid a dominant spell in her homeland as she tanked along in behind the pace only to have her path cut off as the pace was lifting and, after another failed attempt or 2 at getting into the clear weaving inside and out, finding the damage had long been done by the time she began to motor; she won't be long in resuming winning ways at the top level.

ran about as well as could have been expected back up in grade, if anything made to look better than she probably is in a messy Group 1 for all she'd already been placed in an Oaks; in touch, pushed along over 2f out, one paced.

The many interlinked cross-seas form lines - and the market as well - pointed towards a likely match between the last 2 winners of the French Oaks but trouble in running hamstrung one and the worst position in a falsely-run race this for the other, the form highly unlikely to be upheld in any future clashes.

AL HUSN (IRE) gave his owner and rider yet another big-race win as she made it 7 wins from her last 8 outings (only Via Sistina lowered her colours during that spell) but, as at Newcastle, had the run of the race in upsetting the superior Nashwa, best placed to strike on the shoulder of the leader in a tactical affair and, having hit the front under 2f out, maintaining rather than extending her advantage at the line, her old rival poorly placed and the new one who was sent off odds on getting no run as things were unfolding.
