A rather messy listed race for fillies and it's unlikely to prove strong form for the grade, the outsider of the field allowed to dictate having not made a mess of the start for once, the runner-up probably the one to take from the race.

HIGH SPIRITED (IRE) showed much improved form to get off the mark for the season, albeit seen to maximum effect on the day, breaking on for a change and allowed to dictate; soon led, travelled well, quickened 2f out, ridden when hung left after, clear when continued to go left final 1f; she's far from certain to repeat this given her usual antics at the start.

RAINBOWS EDGE ran as well as previously despite meeting with defeat for the first time and will almost certainly prove best of these; chased leader, took keen hold, not quicken over 2f out, hung left over 1f out, stayed on final 1f, no impression on winner.

SEA OF ROSES has had plenty of tries at this level without finding success, her sole victory to date having come in a heavy-ground maiden, though, in her defence, she wasn't seen to best effect here; mid-division, took strong hold, shuffled back after 4f, ridden over 2f out, still plenty to do approaching final 1f, kept on, never a threat.

FRANCOPHONE wasted no time getting back on track returned to calmer waters but was left a little short in the finish having been lit up in the early stages; broke well, prominent, raced freely, settled mid-field after 4f, close up again 2f out, faded final 1f.

OH SO GRAND was unable to show her usual turn of foot in a race that demanded such an attribute, albeit left poorly placed as it went, worth another chance to prove she can translate her improved all-weather form back to turf; waited with, pushed along over 2f out, one paced, never landed a blow.

EXPERT WITNESS consistent and steadily progressive this year, had plenty to find in this grade and gave her running; in touch, shaken up under 3f out, outpaced gradually, lost place final 1f.

ZARABANDA (IRE) wasn't seen to best effect on the day but has already had her limitations exposed at this level; slowly into stride, raced off the pace, headway out wide after 4f, ridden over 2f out, weakened over 1f out.

FAKHAMA (IRE) wasn't in the same form as at York, even allowing for the run of the race, looking ill at ease when asked for her effort; in rear, ridden 2f out, looked awkward, made no impression.
