resumed winning ways back against her own sex, lots to like about the way she completed the task; led until ed fourth, chased leader from 4 out, jumped on again 2 out, drew clear before last, comfortably; this effort looks at least as good as the one posted by the subsequent Dawn Run winner Love Envoi in this race last season and she'll head to that race as a live contender, even if the chances are that her longer-term future lies at this trip and even beyond.

ran well upped in grade, unable to keep up with the winner but sticking at it over the new trip, her rider having seized the initiative around halfway; mid-division, upsides fourth, went on 4 out, ridden when headed 2 out, kept on; she'd look a good thing for a handicap from her current mark of 124, though this shows mare graded races are within reach.

who'd had a breathing operation and wore a tongue strap, ran creditably after 8 weeks off without finding any more improvement, a hint of awkwardness evident in her response to pressure, though she's entitled still to be green; prominent, shuffled back fourth, pushed along before 2 out, carried head bit awkwardly, not quicken.

the bigger-priced of her stable's duo even with Hary Skelton up, ran creditably in first-time tongue strap without being up to the task, getting out of last only on the run-in; held up, shaken up before 2 out, went fourth flat, never a threat.

Overrounds: Industry SP 108%, Betfair SP 99.9%

This was the first time this took place on ground that wasn't either soft or heavy but it was a typical renewal in other respects and the well-backed winner's effort rates as one of the best performances in the race since it was introduced in 2013; the pace picked up once the runner-up was sent to the front around halfway.
